School Closure Extended - Meal Distribution Changed

Governor Wolf has extended the closure of Pennsylvania schools indefinitely. Spring Cove will continue to provide remote instruction to all students. The schedule for Grab-and-Go Meal distribution will change beginning Monday, April 6.

Free Grab-and-Go Lunches Available

Available Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM at SCE, MES, and The Milky Way. However, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, two breakfasts and two lunches will be provided, so that all children will still have the opportunity to receive 5 free breakfasts and 5 free lunches each week.

SCSD Virtual Spirit Week

The entire SCSD Community is invited to join our staff and students in participating in fun theme days from Monday, March 30 through Friday, April 3, while staying home, staying safe, and staying well.

Volunteer Applications for 2019-20 Due by April 1

The LAST DATE to submit all the required volunteer forms, clearances and Tuberculin Test to the Administration Office for School Board approval is April 1, 2020. No volunteer packets will be accepted or submitted to the School Board for approval after April 1, 2020.

CHS Mock Trial Team Achieves District Champion Title

The CHS Mock Trial Team defeated Windber on February 28 and Bedford on March 3 to become this year's District Champion! We wish them luck as they advance to Regionals to compete against Kiski.

PA Department of Health Issues Coronavirus Fact Sheet

Help prevent the spread of all viruses, colds, and flu through these steps:
1) Cover any coughs or sneezes with your elbow, not your hands.
2) Clean surfaces frequently, such as countertops, light switches, cell phones, and other frequently touched areas.
3) Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
4) If you are sick, stay home until you are feeling better.

Community Survey Regarding School Climate

Our District administers the PA School Climate survey as a condition of accepting Safe Schools Grant funds, which support our School Police Officer as well as the purchase of school safety equipment. Members of the Spring Cove Community are invited and encouraged to participate in the Community Survey. To participate, go to www.paschoolclimatesurvey.org and enter the invitation code. The invitation code is 76HW3Y. The survey will be open through April.

Census 2020 Opens April 1

The federal census occurs every 10 years, and it dictates how much federal funding PA receives, which then impacts how much federal funding SCSD receives. For EACH person who is not counted in the census, PA loses $20K in funding over the next 10 years. Therefore, it is very important for all PA residents to complete the census. Federal dollars support special education costs, Title I programs, Title II programs, Head Start, and other programs related to technology, teacher training, etc. Beyond the District, the census impacts funding for roads, hospitals, parks, etc.
