Linda Lafferty receives Highmark School Nursing Excellence Award

Highmark Advancing Excellence in School Nursing Award

Congratulations to Mrs. Linda Lafferty for being recognized by Highmark on Thursday, May 9, with the Highmark Advancing Excellence in School Nursing Award. Mrs. Lafferty was awarded a check for $1,500 from Highmark, which she donated to the Spring Cove School District.

PLTW Distinguished School Badge 2018-19

SCMS Named PLTW Distinguished School

Spring Cove Middle School has been recognized as a Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished School for providing broad access to transformative learning opportunities to students through PLTW Gateway learning modules in grades 6-8.

Dragon Pride Foundation Donates Scorer's Table

Thanks to the generousity of the Dragon Pride Foundation, Central High School now has a new scorer's table for the renovated gymnasium. The Foundation donated $3,578.75 to purchase the table which is used for all sporting events held in the high school. The District greatly appreciates the Foundation's ongoing support!

Public Sale on April 27th

A Public Sale will be held on Saturday, April 27th, from 7:00-11:00 a.m. at Central High School. Select "Read full story" to view a list of items for sale and pricing. Stop by for great deals on tools, furniture, equipment, maple wood, and unique items such as gymnastics equipment, a photocopier, vending machines, and much more!

CHS Mock Trial Team

Good Luck at States, CHS Mock Trial Team!

Our CHS Mock Trial Team has advanced to the State Competition in Harrisburg after capturing a win at Regionals recently. We wish them the best as they compete for the State Champion title!

Volunteer Information

All volunteers must submit all required volunteer forms, clearances, and/or Tuberculin Test to the Administration Office for review and submission to the School Board for final approval at their monthly meeting. The last date to submit all required volunteer forms, clearances and/or Tuberculin Test is April 1, 2019. No volunteer documents will be accepted or submitted to the School Board for approval after April 1, 2019.

Attention Farmers: Nominate SCSD for a Grant to Grow Innovation

Nominations are being accepted until April 1, 2019, for the America's Farmers Grow Rural Education program. If nominated by local farmers, SCSD becomes eligible to apply for STEM education grants. To nominate SCSD, visit AmericasFarmers.com and submit the nomination information.

Kindergarten Student Using Ozobot

SCSD Awarded $500,000 PAsmart Grant

On February 11, 2019, Governor Tom Wolf announced $9.6 million in PAsmart Advancing Computer Science and STEM Education Grants will be distributed to 24 entities across Pennsylvania to expand Computer Science/STEM education. The Spring Cove School District was among the recipients, securing the maximum award of $500,000.

Renovated CHS Gymnasium

Rotary Donates Funds to Enhance CHS Gymnasium Graphics

The renovations to the CHS gymnasium were completed on January 10th. With enhanced graphics thanks to a generous donation from the Morrisons Cove Rotary Club, the new floor makes us Dragon Proud!
