Update 3-29-23 Central High School will be keeping their afternoon CTC students at CHS instead of sending them to the CTC today. We are remaining in a soft lockdown and maintaining communication with police as we continue to monitor the situation. This action is being taken in an abundance of caution to maximize safety. We will provide an update when our soft lockdown is lifted. All students and staff remain safe, and there is no threat to SCSD.
Important Message 3-29-2023 Regarding "Swatting Calls" We are aware that multiple schools are receiving “swatting” calls – fake calls meant to draw police presence. SCSD has received no such calls, but we are currently implementing a soft lockdown by keeping students inside for recess and physical education classes, and we are monitoring and limiting access to the building. Please be aware that all students and staff are safe, and there is no cause for alarm. We are implementing these strategies in an abundance of caution to maximize safety. We are also in communication with local police and are working cooperatively with them as we monitor this situation.
