SCSD is providing free lunches to any child age 18 or under (including preschoolers and toddlers) at three outdoor locations across the district. These locations are Martinsburg Elementary School, Spring Cove Elementary School, and the Milky Way on Dunnings Highway in East Freedom. The children must be present to receive a meal. No adult meals and no meal choices will be offered. Meals may be acquired by “drive-through” or “walk-up” on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, beginning on Monday, March 23. However, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, two breakfasts and two lunches will be provided, so that all children will still have the opportunity to receive 5 free breakfasts and 5 free lunches each week. People are reminded to practice social distancing when picking up meals. No loitering, gathering, or socializing may occur. Meals may not be eaten on site. For the health and safety of your children, our Food Service staff are being directed to keep the Grab-and-Go Lunch program moving quickly, so please do not engage them in conversations.
SCSD wishes to thank The Milky Way for the use of their property for distribution of the lunches in the East Freedom area.
